I have had a life-long love for horses. I’ve been around them from childhood to the present. My first painting was a paint-by-number horse picture. It didn’t turn out very well – but, I was proud of it. Over the years, my paintings have progressed rather slowly at times. I’ve often experienced frustration over trying to capture the spirit of this gentle beast. In the early days, they rarely turned out the way I wanted. I am learning to focus less on the details and more on the emotion evoked by their spirit. In doing so, maybe the frustration I experienced in the early days can be replaced with enjoyment for the animal.
